Paula Orr
A Georgia native, Paula met Christ as a child and was fortunate to have parents that challenged her to live the Christian life sincerely. While attending college, she came face to face with the full challenge of the crucified life and her walk with Christ deepened. After college and teaching school for a short time, Paula attended seminaries with her then fiancee and finally husband. She graduated with a Master of Religious Education degree in 1983 after attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Liberty Theological Seminary but not before giving birth
to their first child, Joel.
She became Mom to their second child, Anna, 3 years
later while in the Orr's first pastorate. Paula has been a
pastor's wife as well as serving with her husband in other
fulltime evangelistic ministries. Always serving the Lord
with her husband, the ministry has been prioritized by
family responsibilities first and sometimes dictated
by health concerns. Over the years as their family
matured, Paula has served on church ministry staff in
music and women's ministries.
She has directed adult and youth choirs, conducted orchestra, coordinated music ministry teams,
trained music staff, and served as a worship leader and soloist. She's been involved in women's ministry programs, conference speaking, Bible teaching, writing and curriculum development, worship leading and counseling. She has dealt with chronic illness and has walked through deep waters of adversity, but
has always seen the Hand of the Lord enabling her to accomplish His direction for her family and ministry.
Paula has recorded and produced several solo and group albums and is a published author with articles in Moody Monthly, Good News Broadcaster magazine sponsored by Back to the Bible Broadcast, The Shantyman (Canada), Herald of His Coming, and has an article dramatized for radio by Unshackled which is aired from Pacific Garden Mission, Chicago, IL.
In 2003, after serving 7 years on fulltime church staff as Director of Music and Women's Ministries, she and her husband launched a faith based ministry, Crosspurpose International. Paula currently writes, speaks at women's and couple's conferences, ministers through music, counsels and serves in various other capacities through Crosspurpose International. The Orrs have two children and 3 grandchildren.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path." Prov. 3:5, 6
